What is an Engine Flush?
An engine flush flushes the filth out of your engine. Usually, an engine flush is performed at the same time as an oil change. Chemicals are poured into the engine after taking out the old oil, which is then gently idled for a few minutes to make sure the cleaning agent reaches everyplace oil would normally go. After that, the chemicals are drained and clean oil is poured in.
When should you get an Engine Flush?
An engine flush is needed if you:
- Have gone too long between oil changes.
- Do a lot of go and stop driving.
- Don’t use your car for months at a time.
- Bought a used car and unsure if the oil was changed regularly.
What to expect during a Engine Flush Service
The engine flush will be performed at the same time as your oil change right at your home or office by a certified mechanic.
How it's done
The mechanic will remove the old oil, pour engine cleaner into the engine, which is then gently left for a few minutes to make sure the cleaning agent reaches everyplace oil would normally go. After that, the chemicals are drained and new oil is poured in.
How important is this service?
An oil flush is not probably required if you follow the recommended oil change intervals from your vehicle manufacturer. If you’ve let your car sit unused for month, gone too long between oil changes, or don’t know if your used vehicle was regularly serviced, get an engine flush to maintain the performance of your engine and avoid expensive repairs.
